Admission

At the Benjamin Franklin Elite Academy, the admission process is personal and thorough to ensure that the BFEA is the best fit for each admitted student and that every student who joins our academy contributes significantly to maintaining our standard of excellence.

Admission Requirements

To be qualified for admission to the BFEA, a student must...

  • Be a citizen of the United States and reside in California.

  • Be at least 12 years old and less than 18 years old on July 1 of the year the student seeks admission.

  • Have higher than average intelligence.

  • Earn a passing score on the admission exam.

Admission Process

To earn admission to the BFEA, prospective students will become well acquainted with the academy and demonstrate their fitness for the academy by completing the following admission process. They will...

​

  • Attend a presentation and Q&A session about the academy with their parents.

  • Attend an interview with their parents.

  • Submit an application that includes their academic achievements, non-academic achievements, and goals. Three current or former teachers and two other adults must complete and submit a recommendation form on behalf of the applying student as part of the application.

  • Take a comprehensive exam.​
